Peak Moment 76: What happens when citizens apply permaculture principles to a city grid? They create friendly places within the grid that invite people to come together. Mark Lakeman, co-founder of Portland, Oregon’s City Repair Project describes these “creative intervention” projects as placemaking at its best. 1. Very cool, but he is incapable of describing concrete project! Luckily I know people who do similar things in London so I could image what he was on about, and towards the end the start showing more pictures so people get the idea.

  2. fantastic

  3. Wonderfully painted street intersections, cob benches, kiosks, small gardens are examples of the projects people are working on.

  4. Yes, the multi-coloured, artistic common spaces are what I thought all we people with hidden talents were supposed to do for society, our neighbourhoods, the world. Express yourselves, we’re all artists.

  5. YEAH! this guy is great! Critical and Positive + Intelegent and Simple + Abstract and Concrete

    another great peak-moment video!

  7. good ideas, but seriously he is quite incapable of staying clear

  9. The road less traveled is always more fun !
    keep up the good work.

  10. i would like to think that his work and inspiration comes from the ingestion of entheogens… even if not… we need more people like him…

  11. I know in the decline of car usage in the oil crisis I became very close to my neighbors through creating a garden in our area ,it was cultural ,while I had no car, I was more green conscious and friendly towards people & animals & taught my child better values.

  12. YES, sociological technobabble keeps me from subscribing to this channel even though I often check to see if something new actually has some useful project info.

  13. people are realizing money is a tool of many tools. it is a way of obtaining, but we have so many free resources that dont hurt anything or any person. just today i foraged a meal; the only thing i sacrificed was convenience. so what? at least i have a direct relationship with my work and the product of my work, and i enjoy foraging, rather than spending time at a job where i get a coupon to buy food from miles away.
